What are the best things to do in Turks & Caicos?

1 – BEACHES AND ISLAND ACTIVITIES

Swim, snorkel, or boat on the beautiful turquoise waters. Relax on one of seven white-sand beaches, including world-famous Grace Bay Beach. Go diving, deep-sea fishing, SCUBA diving, windsurfing, jet-skiing, kayaking, or parasailing. Or just kick back at one of our beach bars or restaurants! Bring your own gear if you prefer to go it alone.

Island activities include horseback riding along the shoreline at sunset, adventures; upcountry to explore an abandoned village, sailing tours; through historic Blue Hills, or a guided eco-tour to the more secluded islands; of French Cay or Pine Cay.

Island activities can turn your vacation into an exciting getaway.

2 – LOCAL CULTURE AND WILDLIFE

Be pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of our people, who truly enjoy showing visitors their culture and heritage. While you’re here, be sure to try some traditional food like conch fritters, cracked conch, parades, johnnycakes, and saltfish.

We have plenty of local wildlife to observe while you wander around town. Look out for iguanas sunning on rocks or trees, hermit crabs; creeping along the beach and rare birds flying over your head! We also have some of the largest bonefish, tarpon, and permit fish in the world!

3 – ROMANTIC DESTINATION

Combine your island getaway with a relaxing spa treatment. Or eat dinner on our seaside terrace as the sun sets over the water.

Turks and Caicos are perfect for couples who want to relax and rejuvenate on their vacation.

I always said that if I ever get rich, or win the lottery, or meet a man; who’s willing to support me in the lifestyle to which I’d like to become accustomed; one of my first trips would be to Turk’s & Caicos. It looks beautiful and exotic (and mostly undeveloped), but it does have some expensive hotels on its more developed islands.  And I imagine that “undeveloped” is not an appropriate description; for your average American tourist who wants amenities such as toilets and hot water; when they’re away from their home comforts. because Americans DO expect certain things and sound and smell and 24-hour service.
